Beer gadgets: a hoarder’s guide

There are very few people who don’t like a gadget. And there are some who like far too many. When it comes to beer, we do feel that far too many is probably the happy medium you should plump for.

We have quite a few of our own (available in our online shop, of course). There’s the sleek and humble bar blade which, with practice, will allow you to look really very cool as you twirl it and open bottles-a-plenty. And we also have our very own growler (yes, that it what they are called) which will allow you to take 1.9 lites or our delicious beer home with you and keep it fresh and cool en route.

There are many, many more gadgets out there – here are some we’ve spotted (we’re not endorsing these, just pointing them out – do check reviews before buying them).

The iphone case that includes a bottle opener.

This is from iconic phone case manufacturer, HeadCase – it’s a bottle opener and a ring-pull opener! So you can open a beer and then show the world on social media what you’ve just done!

There are, of course, a million different bottle openers – just Google it…

Happy hour in the shower

If you’re one of those people who’d love a beer mid-shower but don’t quite know how to go about organising it, then your worries are over. You could probably also use this for shampoo, but make sure you don’t get them mixed up! Although they do say beer is very good for your hair…

Beer foaming stones

Another great find at Uncommon Goods are these beer foaming stones: pop one into your glass and then pour your can of beer over the top and you’ll get a nice thick head like you do on tap. Also, if you keep them in the freezer, they’ll help keep your beer cool a little bit longer.

Stay cool

This one will save those weary trips from deck chair to fridge and back – simply sink the tube into the ground and fill it with cans. Cans that are kept cool naturally by the earth. So it’s lazy and sustainable – what more could you want?

Open sesame

A new take on drinking games: this Drinko Plinko Bottle Opener Game makes opening bottles much more fun. It’s also an unusual thing to hang on the wall.

If you can imagine it, it’s probably been created. So get Goggling…
